Miriam lives with her mother and siblings in a small community outside of Kebenu, in the Volta region of Ghana. Her father is a peasant farmer in a different community and her mother sells food in their village for a small income. Her parents work very hard to make sure they are taking care of their family in the best way they can. As her father is not in the community, the burden is huge on Miriam’s mother, who despite her financial constraint wants her children to be educated. Sponsorship would ensure Miriam is able to continue with her education.
